The hosts welcomed us warmly, the manor’s surroundings were gorgeous and close to Soissons, the place was spotless, and the breakfast was generous. The only downside was that the pool wasn’t heated (closed at the end of October).

Nice surroundings, but no pool or other swimming facilities. The owner said it was struck by lightning; the electrician company had no time to fix it yet. It can happen, of course.

The location was lovely, but the room lacked air conditioning, a fridge, and a minibar even though they were advertised. It was boiling hot inside, apparently the only fan in the hotel was barely working. Breakfast was disappointing, offering only different kinds of bread, and the bathroom wasn’t an en‑suite.

The hotel sits quietly on a hill near a forest, which made the night air especially refreshing during this heatwave. Breakfast was hearty and varied, and the lady of the house was very attentive to guests’ comfort. The only downside was that I couldn’t use the pool because it had just finished renovations and I arrived too late.
