The stay with Carlos was great; he truly cares about the environment and the coffee, and he made sure you were happy. My 14‑year‑old daughter, who isn’t into coffee, had a blast playing with the dogs and cats, and the farm attracts many birds—90 species have been recorded—so bring a camera and binoculars for wildlife. I had to check out a day early because of road closures, and Carlos accommodated me without issue. You’ll experience genuine Colombian hospitality if you stay with him, but be sure to confirm road closures to Filandia beforehand, as unpaved roads to the farm are being worked on and may soon be paved.
