Marlborough Hotel

I had a clean and tidy stay at the hotel, the food was okay, and I’m planning to return sometime next year.

“Our stay was perfect a short break of 3 days. Would we stay there again yes.”

The breakfast spread was excellent, offering everything from a Full English to cereals, fruit, toast, and pasties; the waitress was welcoming and friendly, delivering good service, while the lounge was comfortably furnished with a bar, TV, and a pool table, and the owner/manager was also warm and friendly. In my sister’s room the shower controls were initially stiff but got easier with use, otherwise there was nothing to complain about.

“Beds are a subjective topic so would recommend. We just prefer softer mattresses.”

Everything was fine except the bed was too hard and the toilet was very low.

“Nice looking hotel, but oldfashion bedrooms comfortability.”

The hotel’s location is great and parking is easy in the available car park space; the facilities are well maintained and the shared areas look great. However, the bedroom was tiny, as were the bed and the bathroom; the bathroom sat above the bedroom, and the shower was ridiculously small, with only a tiny hand shower tap and a curtain 😵‍💫. While the price for two people was £220, the room’s value didn’t justify the cost. There was no wardrobe, only clothes hangers on a fabric hook‑hanger roller, and our room was between two levels of the first floor, making it very noisy because guests went up and down the stairs. Maybe other rooms are better maintained and good‑looking, but ours was very disappointing.

“Great location, comfortable bed”

The location was great, giving easy access to both the seafront and the old village. Breakfast was solid, and it was nice to have a cooked option. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. The bed linen had a few marks, so it could have been cleaner—probably just old—but otherwise the room was very clean. Wi‑Fi didn’t work on the 2nd floor for us.
