“Filthy and Unsafe”

The hotel was filthy. It was in a back street, with dog poop near the lobby, and the carpet in the lobby was being swept with a broom while the worker pushed trash out the front door. The location felt unsafe; a young man with a large machete walked near my room# talking to himself. I checked in and left immediately.

The location was good, but the room was not ready: there were no towels, soap, cups, etc. When I asked for towels in the morning, they were still in the dryer and not ready for checkout. The elevator didn’t work, there was no breakfast or coffee, the staff smelled like weed, and the trash cans overflowed. It was simply bad.

Nothing special about the place. I was charged a housekeeping fee, but my room was never cleaned, there were no towels, mold everywhere in the bathroom, and the room was nasty.

The hotel’s proximity to the Space and Rocket Center was a plus and the staff were friendly, but the bed was not made when we arrived at 8 pm; the staff apologized and provided clean sheets. The overall feel of the place was unsafe for our three children. There was no breakfast, and the elevator had apparently been out for months according to a tenant. The room’s water didn’t smell clean, and there were no towels or toilet paper in the bathroom. Trash was still in the bathroom and kitchen bins, and the photos online were not at all what we saw.
