“However, I was disappointed with the checkout and billing experience, particularly the way it was handled by the manager”
I liked the heritage property, so I liked the place and the rooms. Our checkout was delayed by a couple of hours because of an overnight shoot, and we were disappointed to learn that a late checkout would incur a half‑day charge; a simple reminder call before checkout would have sufficed, but we only found out when the final bill was presented. The second issue was the bottled water: during our two‑day stay the bottles placed in the room appeared to be complimentary, and we didn’t request any extra bottles, yet all of them were charged at checkout. When I pointed out that complimentary water is standard in most hotels, the manager, Mr. Ratanlal, replied that they only provide the room and everything else is chargeable. I found that response quite surprising. If bottled water is chargeable, it should be clearly communicated at check‑in or mentioned in the room to avoid confusion. The hotel and rooms are good, but the lack of transparency about these charges made the checkout experience disappointing. Better communication would make the overall guest experience much smoother.
