The location offered a fjord view, the staff were pleasant and welcoming, and parking was OK. I didn’t like having to sit in the basement, walking up and down stairs to get lunch. For dinner we were seated on bark racks at the entrance, which was unsuitable and I had it changed. I had booked tables in advance for both lunch and dinner. Lunch was fine, but dinner left me wanting more; the neighboring table mentioned the kitchen ran out of beef, which is odd when there are only four dishes on the menu. The room cleaning could have been better.

At first I didn’t get the bed I had booked, but that was fixed. The room I received was quite dusty and dirty, though the bedding was clean. The duvet and pillow were not good.

“Not as expected”

The hotel sits in a gorgeous spot and the staff I met were as helpful as they could be. The pool was only open for an hour in the morning for children, which was confusing because it was the main reason I booked with my 2‑year‑old grandchild; that restriction should have been made clearer. I wasn’t told that dinner had to be pre‑booked, so the only table left was completely unsuitable for a child. I tried to talk to a manager, but they said they were only available 9‑5 Monday to Friday. They offered a more child‑friendly dinner, but it never happened, so my grandchild didn’t eat even though we paid for her meal. The rooms were basic, not clean, and definitely not what I would call 4‑star.
