The hotel was very basic and bland, yet it was dirty inside and out; carpets needed vacuuming and trash was everywhere.

The hotel was under construction and fully booked, there was no parking, we had to park beside the dumpster where construction equipment was, and a nail in the tire forced us to replace it.

The hotel looked small but clean, and the front desk staff who checked us in was great. After an 11.5 hr drive, we sat on opposite sides of the bed to check our phones, and when we stood up the headboard fell off the wall onto our bed! We took a picture and went to the front desk to report it to the staff, which was about 5 minutes after we had checked in. She was amazing and apologetic. She offered a new room, offered to have someone put it back on the wall, and she said she would contact the manager. We told her we propped the headboard against the wall, they didn't need to fix it until we left, and that we didn't need to change rooms. We did, however, ask that we be comped something for the room. 1) The headboard falling off the wall.It could have been much worse had we been sleeping.but we are not reviewing the what-ifs just what DID happen. 2) We spoke to the manager the next morning, showed him a picture and asked for a comp on the room for the inconvenience. He refused to give a comp. We paid the full amount $223. 3) The complimentary breakfast was cold. When we asked the manager to help get the microwave to work to warm up our food, he ran down the hall to reset the breaker. He knew EXACTLY why everything was cold. We threw our food away. We had no idea how long the food sat there cold and we weren't taking any chance. He did not change out the food to fresh and we saw people serving up food for themselves as we checked out. We would never go back!

The location was great, the breakfast was decent, and the staff were helpful. Everything else was fine.
