From the outside the hotel looked pretty, but the room was halfway down in the basement and the window touched my chin; I was disappointed because I hadn’t seen that detail anywhere.

Breakfast was tasty and the staff were very friendly, yet nobody was there when we arrived and we thought our booking had been cancelled; after a fifteen‑minute wait the kind receptionist finally checked us in, so overall it ended up okay. The rooms were a bit dated and it’s unfortunate the bathroom has no door.

The room was comfortable with everything you’d expect, breakfast was fine, and the staff were courteous and friendly, but the dinner was bland and offered no variety.
