The location was good and the sunset view was beautiful. However, because it was a smoking room, the cigarette smell was extremely bothersome.

The room felt spacious, yet even with every light switched on it remained dim, the bathroom tile grout showed mold, and the 2000‑yen breakfast buffet was a bit underwhelming—I'd settle for it at 1500 yen—but the Hida beef rice ball was delicious.

The breakfast offered a wide variety of tasty dishes and the staff were courteous and helpful, but the mattress had a noticeable dip in the middle that made my back uncomfortable, and the toilet’s bidet and the shower faucet looked old and could do with replacement.

Having a castle and a drugstore nearby was handy, but the smell of cigarette smoke lingered despite the presence of an air purifier, which was bothersome.
