Granite View

The description of how to get there was good. The fact that the living container isn’t standing alone with a nature view as shown in the photos, but is tucked behind a new building and only offers a view into the house, was a disappointment. We expected to be right in nature with no nearby places to eat, so we brought our own drinks and food. The container is nicely furnished, but aside from the bed there’s no way to have breakfast. In the courtyard there’s a seating area that’s video‑monitored, which is not fun. Smoking is even banned in the garden. If you’re in this area and want to do nature sightseeing, it’s better and cheaper to stay in one of the larger towns and not have to supply yourself. So in terms of price and value, it’s disappointing. We were in Ireland for three weeks, everything was wonderful, the hosts were always helpful and nice. I didn’t leave a review for this place for a long time, but after repeated requests I’m doing it now. The truth – price and value are not related. Sorry, but sometimes you have to think long enough before writing the truth.

Despite all dissatisfaction, the lady was polite via email, gave all the necessary information, and the cabin was newly furnished and clean. The description didn’t mention that it was a cabin on a private garden of a family’s property. The photos were staged to hide that. From the cabin you can see the private gym and the owner’s living room; the cabin is smaller than their own garage, and as a bonus the space in front of the cabin is monitored by cameras, which understandably made me feel constantly watched. In terms of price, which wasn’t low, I found it a few euros more expensive but not comparably better than a hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Granite View. The cabin is gorgeous and I could see the sunset over the lake from my bed. Very quiet and peaceful location with lots of privacy. And the area is so beautiful for exploring:)

“Très bonne adresse!”

The chalet felt cosy, the scent of wood filled the air, the bedding was good, there was a small fridge, a kettle, Dorothy was available and gave useful tips, and the cleanliness was excellent. Maybe they could add coffee, but that’s a minor detail.
