“Dotazioni non adeguate al caldo e forma che supera la sostanza”
I’m giving this rating based on the experience we had, so read on before deciding. I can’t really rate the actual night‑stay because we chose not to stay at the property (hence the 5 to avoid skewing the average), but I think it’s important to describe what happened at check‑in and how the hotel dealt with us. They initially agreed to add a small bed for our daughter on short notice, but when we arrived the outside temperature was about 39.5 °C. Inside the room it was stifling and unbearable for our little girl and our dog; the only cooling devices were a ceiling fan and a table fan. The hotel pointed out that the lack of air‑conditioning was listed in the property description—a factual, indisputable point we accepted as our own oversight when booking, even though air‑conditioning is supposedly a new technology that only appeared on the market in 1902… Claiming the rooms were “healthy” under those conditions is debatable, since WHO heat‑wave guidelines strongly advise against staying in non‑air‑conditioned spaces at high temperatures, especially for vulnerable people. With today’s summer heat peaks, cooling should be a basic requirement, not an optional extra. The owner later told us verbally that they would soon carry out works to install it. On top of that, the food service was mishandled: we had been told we could book meals on site, yet when we arrived the dinner for that evening was already sold out and the staff said they had “forgotten to inform us”, which is odd for a hospitality business that should prioritise guests. The final blow was the commercial attitude: when we could not stay in those conditions and had to find emergency accommodation, we were told that paying directly at the hotel rather than through a platform might “somehow help us”. Yet when we formally requested a refund through the portal, the owner flatly refused any gesture, even a partial credit for the unused breakfasts, hiding behind strict cancellation policies and the terms listed on the website. Consequently we had to secure another place at the last minute, farther away and at more than double the cost. Credit goes to the platform’s customer service, which recognised our hardship and gave us a bonus credit. Ironically, at the end of the stay the owner sent a thank‑you message asking for feedback on whether we had enjoyed ourselves—a formality that starkly contradicted the complete lack of empathy and flexibility we experienced.
“Immersi nel verde maremmano”
This agriturismo has many advantages, starting with its location in the Maremmana countryside yet not too far from the sea. The room was spotless and welcoming. The owners were super kind, friendly, and attentive to guests’ needs. It’s definitely an experience to repeat and I recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in nature. The only downside regarding the room is the lack of TV and air conditioning, but it does have a ceiling fan. The owners explained that these upgrades are in their future plans since they only started the business a year ago.
“Soggiorno rigenerante”
I stayed at an agriturismo that lets you taste the real Maremma Tuscan countryside, surrounded by a rustic, welcoming and family‑like vibe, with friendly cats and dogs that keep things low‑key. Veronica’s warm welcome and impeccable hospitality made our stay very pleasant. The room was clean, fully equipped, even had a small fridge. Breakfast was varied, with both savory and homemade sweet options. I’ll definitely come back if the chance arises. Highly recommended.
Veronica and Davide are knowledgeable, smart professionals who are so enthusiastic that we’ll return to La Concia as soon as we can. We highly recommend the podere, the restaurant, and the wine list. Their smiles and good humor made the stay enjoyable.
Wonderful hosts in a dreamy location. The dinner in the garden was unforgettable. The wine was excellent. Absolutely recommend.
