The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome; our room was really comfortable, cleaned daily with fresh towels, and among all the hotels we stayed at on the trip, the Duchess turned out to be one of the best, especially since we ate there a lot and the food was consistently good.

A lovely, calm spot that served as a great base for exploring the area and markets; the food was loved, especially the Healthy Pizza and Crocodile Burger, and it was great to see Stroopwaffels on the menu, with very helpful staff.

At The Dutchess you can enjoy delicious food, spacious rooms, and you’re just a walk away from the center of Fort Portal; the hotel has two nice terraces, offers tasty yoghurt for dairy lovers, and for pizza lovers there’s a real wood‑fired pizza oven built by an Italian, though not all pizza ingredients were available, the modified pizza still tasted great.

I used to go to their restaurant in previous years, and this year I stayed for 5 nights with my mother; the location, staff, and food were all wonderful—thanks to the entire Dutchess team.
