The food was excellent, the location by the lagoon lets you swim before breakfast, the garden has many charming spots, and the forest trail by bike leads to a beautiful beach – overall a great spot to slow down.

The large, thatched roof hotel blends nicely with its natural, spacious garden and has a lovely pool; our room had solid wood furnishings and a modern bathroom, everything was clean and tidy. On the evening of arrival we dined at the restaurant; the chef produced a wonderful main course, yet at 8 pm the appetizer buffet was, in our view, heavily overpriced for its limited selection. The staff, not overly busy, seemed to overlook us, so my husband had to stand up several times to make requests. Breakfast was “okay.” The lack of lighting on the stairwell to the main entrance at night was borderline; my 72‑year‑old husband almost slipped and nearly fell.
