The spot was close to downtown and the staff were friendly; when I told them my husband and I were marking our 10‑year anniversary, she upgraded our room at no cost. The furniture, however, was dated and the leather on the chair was peeling.

The place was spotless and the beds were supremely comfy, plus its proximity to Murphy’s downtown was a big plus.

We loved the location, though the online description omitted the swimming pool; it was visible in the photo gallery and indeed there was a pool, but it wasn’t heated—too cold for a swim in Murphys’ heat. The lampshades needed replacing, and when we mentioned it they said new ones were on order. When we had trouble with the TV, staff promptly came to our room to help.
