The location was good. The hotel was in general deteriorated; when I booked I didn’t notice the room had no shower and was very small – my mistake. The furniture, floor and cleaning were unbelievably bad, making it impossible to stay. We asked for a room change and paid 180 €, which was better but still deficient. The man who handled our complaint was very rude, offered no alternative, and simply ignored us, avoiding eye contact. Later a lady did resolve the issue to our satisfaction.

“Fair”

The onsen was good and the ryokan was in a nice setting. I told them one person in our group didn’t eat beef and asked them to change the dish for that person. They said it was fine, but then they changed the dishes for all eight other guests, saying that if one person can’t eat beef, the whole group must have the same dishes. That policy was not mentioned when I made the reservation.

The Ryokan was very nice in terms of location, food, and onsen. The staff were very careful and handled everything, from shoes to bedding and cleaning. I recommend it without hesitation!

“ほかの客と同じ対応をしてくれると嬉しいです”

I was thrilled to finally stay at the dreamy Edo‑ya; although I’m not Japanese and felt a bit out of place at first, within less than an hour the inn seemed to welcome me and I quickly got comfortable with its atmosphere. It was wonderful to experience such a lovely Edo‑ya. The only thing I can now point out is that they never hung my name on the door of my room, which seemed odd since no other rooms had the same issue.
