The location is very central, but the street is full of clubs and pubs, so it’s very crowded and noisy at night. As a solo traveler, I felt safe because many people walked by the street after dark. I didn’t hear any noise because my apartment had no window – a plus in this case and not a problem for a short stay. The apartment was larger than I expected, had a well‑equipped kitchen and all the amenities you need. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The walls were a bit worn and cracked, but that didn’t bother me much. Important note: the address listed on the booking site is not the real one; it’s two streets away. If I hadn’t seen that comment, I wouldn’t have known because the host didn’t inform me – I had to ask for the correct address and confirm it, which was a bit stressful since I arrived at night and was traveling alone. The contact could have been smoother.

The bed was comfy and the room was neatly arranged, and it stayed quiet through the night. However, the place wasn’t where it appeared on the site; it was farther from the metro yet still in Bairro Alto. The fridge couldn’t plug in because there was no socket, which was a pity since a kitchen would have been a great perk.

The spot was well‑located, central and close to a metro, and the flat was spotless with perfect shower temperature and pressure. I was worried about outside noise from the lively neighbourhood at night, but surprisingly I heard nothing. The front door didn’t lock properly; sometimes it stayed slightly ajar, but there were two other locked doors before the room, so security wasn’t a major issue. The sidewalks around the streets weren’t the cleanest early in the day, littered with plastic bottles and lime‑shaped glass fragments from nearby bars. I’d also liked a place to leave my luggage before check‑in instead of paying to store it at a local shop.
