Nestled right in the jungle, the lodge was a quiet, dark oasis with lovely huts and great terraces. Jürgen and his family are all about protecting the environment and they really talk about it. The only hiccup was that hot water was promised but we couldn’t get it set up.

The location was stunning, with candlelit meals and a pristine natural backdrop. The guides were professional and the tours were fascinating. Getting there was a pain—bad roads, a river crossing, and you really need a 4‑wheel drive.

Jürgen runs the lodge with a strong commitment to the environment, which shows in everything. The horseback ride and the scenic flights were highlights of the trip.

This was the star of our Costa Rica trip—a jungle adventure with a gorgeous terrace overlooking nature, open windows, and all the sounds of the wild. The horseriding, other activities, and the kitchen—everything fresh and homemade—were top notch. Jerry, our guide, made it all memorable. Jürgen, the owner, is deeply invested in conservation and sustainability, and that touched our hearts. We’d love to return and highly recommend it to nature lovers who don’t mind the lack of air conditioning.
