Mount Frenion Manor by Seven Angels Kandy

“Disaster”

The location near Peradeniya was convenient. We’d stayed at Seven Angels’ Bandarawela location the month before and loved it, so we brought friends to try Mount Fenion Manor. The place was dusty, dirty, and neglected. The manager and staff arrived late, and the rooms weren’t ready. The menu was basically only Sri Lankan food, and the beer was warm. The gardens were poorly maintained, so we couldn’t wait to leave. The staff were pleasant but under‑prepared. Because of the disaster at Mount Fenion, we won’t risk another visit to a Seven Angels property again, even though our Bandarawela experience was outstanding.

“Sehr schönes Boutique-Hotel in ruhiger Umgebung”

This boutique hotel is a real gem, especially considering it only has three rooms, which makes it feel super exclusive. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was top-notch - the breakfast and dinner were both delicious. The rooms were beautifully designed and the quiet surroundings were a welcome respite from the chaos of Kandy.

This place is a real gem, tucked away in a stunning building that offers a serene escape from the chaos of Kandy. With only a handful of rooms, we felt like we had the staff's undivided attention, and they went above and beyond to make our stay special. The rooms are spacious and the bed is incredibly comfy, but the real highlight is the food – the staff whipped up delicious Sri Lankan meals on the terrace with breathtaking views.

“Sehr schön”

We stayed in a fantastic villa in a great location, and the staff were more than happy to cater to our every need. The bathroom was huge and the water was piping hot, which was a lovely touch. To top it all off, we got a guided tour of the garden, which was a real surprise - we had no idea how many different types of fruit and spice plants were growing there. It was a really lovely experience and we felt like we were getting a special behind-the-scenes look at the villa.

We were looking for a peaceful retreat, and this villa on the hill delivered – but it's not for everyone. The remote location and lack of pool made it better suited for a group of friends than a family with young kids. We ended up moving to their sister hotel in the city, which was a great decision, thanks to the manager's kindness in accommodating our request. If you're planning to visit, just be aware that the property could be harder to find without clear street signs.
