The view is stunning, there are plenty of friendly animals for the kids to discover, the walking paths to the alpine meadows start right outside the front door, and with the guest card you can use the local public transport to Salzburg or Bad Reuchenhall for free; the rental staff were very friendly and accommodating. For all routes without a car we were able to use the newly set up Watzmobil flexibly and quickly (compared to a taxi, but much cheaper). Unfortunately, that was not available on departure.

“Kiváló hely, szerettük, visszajönnénk.”

A stay belonging to a mountain dairy farm on German territory close to Salzburg, with cows everywhere, barn smell, trees, and a wonderful view; the host was kind and flexible, we loved it. Two weeks would still be too short to visit all the sights. We’ll come back. If you don’t like crowds but would go to Salzburg or Sasfészek, this is an ideal place. If you enjoy hiking or exploring the countryside’s wonders, it’s even better. I can’t say anything negative.

Located quietly above Piding, the apartment is peaceful; it offers a cozy holiday flat with a bread service and a view of the Staufen, from which many tourist destinations are easily reachable. I personally missed a slightly larger, comfortable couch in the living room to sit with the family.

The apartment is in a beautiful area, perfect for families with children, with a baby bassinet and a high chair available; the host owns cows grazing near the building, and there are also horses and goats nearby. The apartment is very clean and well maintained. The host speaks only German, but with a translator it’s manageable; the apartment was a bit cold.

You’re immersed in nature, even though you can smell the stench of cow and horse manure. The apartment had a pre‑war style sofa bed with hard, rusty metal legs, making it practically unusable. Upon arrival we were greeted by a hundred flies, and it was a challenge to get rid of them. The double bed had a terrible mattress, the shower was half broken, and there was a complete lack of soaps, detergents, or trash bags. One roll of toilet paper was shared by three people for seven nights. In the end, they presented us with a bill different from the one on Booking (obviously higher) and we had to show the reservation again to pay the agreed amount. The owner doesn’t speak a single word of English. My recent experiences with Booking have been truly disastrous (I’ve used it for years for work).
