“Llévate comida!”

The spot was a quiet farm surrounded by fields, which I liked. I was disappointed that breakfast and dinner weren't offered, and because it was so remote I wish that had been mentioned earlier; the ad said they were available. The room was small and the hot tub was dirty.

The Pensiunea Poarta lui Ionele sits about 2 km from the Peștera Ghețarul at Scărișoara, on a quiet hilltop where the simplicity and beauty of Țării Moților show in their purest form. The building has a ground floor with a fully equipped kitchen and several rooms, plus a second floor and attic. The accommodation was very good: heated rooms, hot water, spotless cleanliness. Small shortcomings can happen anywhere, but the value for money is excellent. Everything depends on what you want when choosing this area; very demanding guests might need to look elsewhere. The inn’s courtyard is a true story corner, with a covered barbecue area, a ciubăr, a gazebo and a swing, all harmoniously integrated into a fairy‑tale landscape. The hosts are simple, warm, welcoming, hardworking and used to the hardships of mountain life. We were greeted with slană, plăcinte moțești and gogoși, all made from homemade ingredients—a delightful and authentic surprise. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking peace, clean air and a real boost of positive energy. Țara Moților remains a living legend and history, and this guesthouse is a wonderful gateway to its soul.
