The central location, huge room, and very large, comfy bed were positives, but the room was warm and the fan wasn’t working, although I didn’t ask reception to replace it.

The Angel Hotel, a classic Victorian building, offers elegant rooms with views of Cardiff Castle and its grounds. Located next to the castle and near Principality Stadium, it features free Wi-Fi, a TV, and private bathrooms. The hotel boasts Castell's Restaurant, serving fine cuisine, and the Angel Bar, offering cocktails and light meals, within a short walk to Bute Park and city centre.

I liked the spacious, clean room and the fact that a castle was right across the street and the New Theatre was just a 10‑minute walk away, so I slept comfortably. The holes in the curtains were awful, and the room could use a mini‑fridge.

A lick of paint wouldn’t hurt !

The large bedroom was very clean, the hotel’s city‑centre location was excellent, and the breakfast offered a good selection of high‑quality items.
