“DISAPPOINTING”
The place was dated, cramped, and dark. Our room was basic and only deserved a 3‑star rating, not the advertised 5 stars, especially after paying over 1200 euros for two nights. The decor was outdated, from a plastic spa bath to a tiny toilet where the door couldn’t close properly. The bedside tables were odd—one a small DIY shelf, the other an oversized, too‑high antique. This was the best category room in the hotel, yet it was accessed via a narrow, dark, twisting stairwell with no natural light. The room had a kettle and cafetière but no modern coffee machine. Breakfast cost 27 euros each, served in a dark dining room with no condiments on the table and a push‑button coffee machine (self‑service) alongside an odd assortment of old‑fashioned crockery. The so‑called egg menu was dirty and tatty, with scrambled eggs served in a cereal bowl. Consequently, we avoided dinner because the waiters seemed very young and untrained. The car park was hard to exit due to its narrowness. Overall, the experience was only 25% of what we had at the previous 5‑star hotel the night before, which cost 100 euros less per night and had no faults.
