“Basic and nothing special”
I stayed here just before a flight, and the place was basic and unremarkable. Check‑in was easy and the interior was clean, with a private bathroom that was oddly situated in the hallway. Everything felt very old‑fashioned, but the air conditioning worked well. The problem was that paying the tourist tax required either a bank transfer or a personal visit to the host, for which he added a €15 fee that had never been mentioned before. It felt like a hidden extra charge or even a scam, and the host was confrontational and didn’t understand my arguments, remaining inflexible throughout.
“Fortunatamente ci è servita solo per una notte”
The room was small, suitable for a single night in Pisa, but it didn’t have air conditioning, only a portable fan to cool the space. The property is near the center, though the street to reach it is very inconvenient. The biggest issue was the lack of human interaction; all communication was via cold, automated messages and emails, with no direct contact with the manager. Check‑in was also quite tricky: keys were kept in several safety deposit boxes, and since there were multiple rooms and boxes, figuring out which one was correct felt like a treasure hunt. The most uncomfortable part was the bathroom: we hadn’t booked a room with an internal private bathroom, yet the bathroom assigned to us was on a different floor than our room. That meant my partner and I had to leave the room with towels, robes, and everything, use different keys to access each floor, walk through the corridor, climb stairs, and finally reach the floor where the bathroom was. To make it worse, that bathroom wasn’t even exclusive to our room but shared with other guests. After mistakenly transferring more than the required amount, I requested a refund of the difference but received no reply. Shortly after, we were contacted to confirm whether the car in the reserved parking was ours, even though no additional cost was indicated. We tried to stay philosophical, but overall the stay lacked clarity, convenience, and guest attention.
The room was not as shown in the photos; I paid €65 to stay in a cramped space with a mosquito net attached with Pessimo clips.
The host was great and helped us find a place when our flights were cancelled last week. The room was clean and tidy, air‑conditioned, and surprisingly spacious with an en‑suite. The location is perfect for walking to and from the airport and still within a comfortable walking distance around the city.
“Disappointing”
The air conditioning was good, but the check‑in was complicated. It was a self‑check‑in.
