The guesthouse in Walmer is beautiful, with comfortable rooms, a gorgeous setting, and a very central spot. Even though you’re on Main Road, traffic is hardly audible or visible. Breakfast is delicious and varied. Check‑in and check‑out were smooth, and the staff were friendly. I highly recommend it. My only gripe—maybe just me—is that a TV was on in the breakfast room; I didn’t want to watch or listen to the news.

Breakfast was good, with tap coffee, a toaster, bread, grated cheese, and preserves. The atmosphere was pleasant, the sheets were good, and the mattress was comfortable. I had a dog with me while traveling to the Cape afterward, and it was handled very well. I felt safe and cozy. The location in Walmer is great: it takes only 10 minutes to cross town, and it’s close to the airport, Walmer Park, and traffic is reasonable. It was a good stay and good value. No issues at all, the staff were helpful, and it’s a good place to stay. I’ll come back.

We’ve stayed at Lodge on Main before and it never disappoints. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the beds are large and comfortable. Breakfast is always excellent. Lodge on Main is our go‑to spot in Port Elizabeth. Nothing to add.

I loved the fresh fruit salad, juice, and the variety on the menu. The staff were very warm and the service excellent. The coffee was a downside.
