Very beautiful and lovingly furnished old building that we really liked. Unfortunately it only has a bathtub where you can only shower while sitting.

The terrace offers sea view and a view of the Duomo. The décor is lovely, and the historic centre life is great. The bathtub equipment is a bit old‑fashioned.

“No towels, shower gel or hand soap on arrival, and no response to my message. Amenities listed on Booking.com should be”

The spot is spot-on, right next to the basilica, and the apartment comes with a huge terrace that’s perfect for kicking back and taking in the view. But the stay fell flat – no towels, no shower gel, no hand soap when we got there. I’d sent a message ahead of time to say what time I’d arrive, and got nothing back. If you’re hosting, keep your phone on and reply. When I finally asked about the towels, they pointed me to them, but they should have been ready from the start. I always bring a tiny bottle of shampoo and shower gel, because otherwise I’d have had nothing to use. I even added water to the hand soap dispenser and it still foamed :) If you list these items, make sure they’re actually there when guests arrive. If you claim something’s provided, it has to be there.
