The owner’s friendliness more than compensates for the negatives. The house is a 1970s‑style home with old furniture that could use updating, especially for the price we paid for one night. Cleanliness was good, but the towels were old. As soon as I entered the bathroom I noticed a bad odor, probably from the drains. Still, the owner’s kindness and willingness to help make up for everything.

The host was nice and helpful with questions, but the building and the apartment are old now; the bathroom and shower are tiny, the breakfast is small, and there’s no fork or even a spoon to eat the yogurt. There’s no working air‑conditioning—essential today—and no Wi‑Fi, so the value for money just doesn’t add up.

The place is in a great spot, right in the historic centre, and you can walk to the Grotte easily; a well‑furnished supermarket is just around the corner. The terrace is nice for meals or relaxing, and the kitchen is well equipped. Stefano is very friendly and thoughtful, leaving water and wine in the fridge for me. However, the building is a two‑store house split into two apartments, one on each floor, sharing the same front door and staircase, so to reach the top unit you have to walk through the living room of the lower one.
