Kerem ile Aslı Butik Hotel

The hotel was a nightmare: loud live music blared from the square outside my room every night until midnight, leaving me with hardly any sleep before an early flight. I asked the front desk to arrange a 6:30 am taxi, but when I returned at that time, no staff remembered my request, wasting valuable time. The staff were completely unreliable.

“Beautiful old building.”

The location was just outside town, close to a bar, and the décor was traditional Turkish. Unfortunately, there was a lot of dust behind the curtains and at the foot of the bed.

The property is old and tucked into a side street, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and breakfast was excellent. I had to ask for Wi‑Fi details and breakfast hours, and very little English was spoken. Apart from breakfast, the food was mediocre, and I didn’t know there was a restaurant across the building. The hotel is clearly an event venue; my suite opened onto the stage, so it was very noisy during a wedding.

“Unterkunft an guter Lage mit super Frühstück!”

The accommodation gave us a good base to explore Kayseri. The staff were very helpful, even though English communication was a challenge. We especially enjoyed the traditional breakfast, which was lovingly prepared. As a non‑smoker, I was annoyed that the room smelled of smoke and that the odor stuck to my clothes.
