The spot was right beside a rice field, a truly unique setting. The family—Dewa, his wife, and Jarni—were incredibly welcoming and offered experiences I hadn't expected, making me feel truly grateful to be there. I enjoyed the stay.

The Demank hidden guesthouse sits about 15 minutes from Ubud centre, tucked away through a side street that leads to a secret haven. It backs onto several rice fields, with only birds and nature as background noise, creating a perfect atmosphere for a peaceful rest, meditation, or a pit stop on your travels.

A pleasant place with a well‑maintained yard and rice fields right outside the house. The kitchen was almost empty, but we asked and were given everything we needed. There is a water cooler. The staff were very responsive. However, there were strange issues with hot water—it would disappear and reappear unpredictably. The entrance to the guesthouse was also uncomfortable, being narrow and long.

From the terrace you can see the garden, and the room’s furniture and décor are lovely, with a view onto the rice fields and the house owners. They are very sweet and pleasant people. The bathroom was dark and uncomfortable, and it would help to have soap available.
