The place was simple but spotless, the AC worked fine and mosquito nets were fitted to the windows. The staff were friendly, though apart from the owner most of them spoke little or no English. The terrace offered lovely river views. Breakfast came as a pre‑made spread: the coffee was gritty with grounds, the juice was a sugary syrup from concentrate, but the omelet, veggies, cheese, watermelon, and local savory pastries were tasty. I couldn’t finish everything, and I didn’t even touch the bread, which is disappointing because I hate wasting food—there seemed to be nothing to spread on it except sliced meat. The only real snag was that payment had to be in cash; since I was just passing through Serbia for one night, I didn’t want to exchange currency, but I had checked beforehand that euros were accepted. Belgrade’s free public transport was a huge help, as the hotel is outside the city centre and a few kilometres from places like the bus station. A grocery store and several restaurants were fairly close in a nearby shopping centre. The curtains were sheer and didn’t block light, so I used a towel as an extra “curtain”. Occasionally a screech from the houseboats could be heard; it’s probably unavoidable but worth noting if you’re noise‑sensitive.

The atmosphere is unique, the value for money is excellent, and the view is wonderful. Breakfast is fresh and in huge portions. The parking is a bit farther away but it’s free and guarded. The twin bed was a little tight for the two of us, but there was another bed available. The host was very kind—Sasha! Thanks so much for the fine wine. Long live the celebration, whether it was your birthday or another occasion.
