The views of the trout dams were stunning, and the open‑space entertainment area was comfortable for both adults and children, letting us watch and relax. The house itself was beautiful, warm, and cozy, and we were lucky to use the full kitchen. Lorraine and the team did everything to keep us comfortable. The only downside was that our stay felt too short.

We booked, but when we arrived there was a father and his young boys who had booked for a rum party; we were the only guests who had booked together. The father, who was staying 5 km away at a golf estate, offered us a place to stay instead. We thought that would be better because we didn't want to be around the loud, drinking young men. I was concerned that the owner was new and wondered why he let us book. We were disappointed, and the road to the location was not great—we drove our new Toyota Corolla Cross and were not happy. The owner was friendly, though.

We celebrated a family event! Sam, Lorraine, and everyone at the Lodge went the extra mile. The location between Dullstroom and Highland Gate was perfect. I applaud the place. No complaints.
