We were overall satisfied and enjoyed our days in Cochem, but the house was a bit complicated for us six people with mild mobility restrictions, making stair climbing somewhat difficult; without those limitations we’d rent again anytime. The kitchen and living room were on the top floor, although the roof terrace was great.

The location is central, but the fridge doesn’t cool.

The spot is top‑class and the terrace view is nice, yet the furnishings feel old and mismatched.

The house sits just a few meters from Cochem’s main square and stays quiet at all times; the top‑floor terrace is gorgeous and offers one of the best views of the castle, and the place can comfortably fit eight people. Downstairs it was rather cool and damp, almost cellar‑like, and the bathroom there had no operable window; also, one of the rooms’ windows wouldn’t open – or we were too clueless to figure it out.

Everything was as described and thought of, and the house is very spacious. The only drawback was that the kitchen and living room were on the upper floor; for older people like my father who have mobility issues, getting up there was hard, though solutions exist. What was ideal for him was that there was a bedroom and a small bathroom directly on the ground floor.
