The place is in a great spot, but one room has a French door opening onto the backyard, so you either get a lot of light with no privacy or darkness. The bathtub is hard to use as a shower, and there’s no kitchen—just a tiny fridge that didn’t work and a coffee maker.

The location is great, especially for Castle, and everything you need is on site with many beautiful spots nearby. Unfortunately it isn’t really suitable for three adults if everyone is over 1.55 m tall; the sofa bed is very small, so even when stretched out I could only lie diagonally, barely enough space.

The spot is exceptionally well situated, just a 1‑2 minute walk from Kilkenny Castle to the town centre—very convenient. The property could use some updates, but it was comfortable enough for our two‑night stay.

The place sits just a two‑minute walk from the castle and its park, and the city centre is almost right next door. The neighbourhood is very quiet, so you can read and sleep soundly. The only thing that isn’t crystal clear is that the house offers several different types of rooms, some with kitchens, meaning other guests will also be staying in the same building. Privacy is generally fine, but the peace depends on how quiet the neighbours are, and the driveway can get a bit crowded with cars. For us, that didn’t cause any trouble.
