“The best location and Facilities but lack of interest/training from staff”

The location is fantastic, offering stunning views, and the cottage feels super cozy and warm, making you feel right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and all the facilities. The dinners were very good overall, and the rafting experience was brilliant thanks to the lovely and attentive team running it. The massage service was also very enjoyable. A special shout‑out goes to the guy at breakfast and the rafting team for their great service and friendly attitude. However, with a few exceptions, we noticed a general lack of hospitality, empathy, and willingness to help from the staff. Simple requests often felt like an inconvenience, met with coldness, disinterest, or reluctance—such as being told “no” when asking for a bit more soup at dinner, or getting little assistance when trying to source firewood for the cottage. For a property charging €300/night, customer service should be flawless across the board, from management down. Although dinner was delicious, they failed to ask how we wanted our meat cooked; when serving a steak or cut of meat, asking for the guest's preferred doneness is essential, as everyone likes it cooked differently. We noticed a lack of attention to basic maintenance, such as pool towels left scattered around overnight and remaining there until the following morning. Considering the tier and price of the hotel, we felt the wine list was quite limited and lacked higher‑quality options. We would appreciate it if management or the owner reached out to us privately; we prefer not to post negative comments publicly, but we felt it was important to share this feedback.

Beautiful place, well maintained, the lodge was clean and fully equipped, staff were kind and very helpful, great meals… excellent value for money. I wish I could have stayed longer.
