I was treated to exceptional service and a warm welcome.
The food was excellent, and the hotel had a good range of real ales.

“Nice big comfortable room”
The room was large, comfortable, and nice. It’s over a mile from the city centre, so it’s a long walk. The staff weren’t the friendliest, but they were not rude or anything, just not very friendly.
“Lovely period hotel.”
Beautiful building, well-equipped beroom. Staff delightful and efficient. Plenty of parking space. Fresh milk in fridge a much appreciated extra. Unfortunately, our room was up 2 steep sets of stairs which were challenging when carrying cases. There was a background humming noise, which could be heard all through the night but it was too hot to close the window
“Enjoyed”
Very good overall. No complaints, everything excellent.
“Good stay, would reccomend to others”
The location was good, the room comfortable, and the restaurant was good.
“Cosy pub stay on the edge of Ilkley moor with a lovely warm welcome.”
A friendly Yorkshire vibe in this snug pub, set in a calm spot near transport and walking paths right off the door. Parking is a breeze, and the recently updated bar has plenty of cozy nooks. The breakfast buffet was chilly and the selection was thin, with some days missing entirely. Looking out from the breakfast room onto the terrace was disappointing: broken Christmas lights taped to the inside of the window, a hastily abandoned and messy pizza oven set‑up, long‑dead pot plants, an untidy terrace, an overflowing blanket box full of soggy blankets, and untidy furniture—definitely not a motivating start to the day. Rooms have many small issues that could be fixed easily; perhaps a manager should spend a night in each room to understand the guest experience.
