The breakfast was great and the location was excellent. Alison and Andrew were lovely hosts, and Alison supplied all the information we needed while recommending some fantastic restaurants.

“Gute Lage, bequemes Bett”

The room was huge. Parking was right behind the building, and the location was good in town. The bed was very comfortable (the most comfortable of the whole trip). Breakfast was tasty, with options listed on a sheet. The friendly owner chatted and gave tips for breakfast. We booked two rooms; one was fine as is, but we wanted to swap the second because we weren’t fully satisfied. After the swap it was okay, though some furnishings could still be replaced because the value for money isn’t quite right (yes, Islay is expensive).

“A fantastic find. Which we will definitely use again if/when we return to Islay.”

The room was spectacular, with two seating areas and a large en‑suite that had both a shower and a bath, plus glorious views to match. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The location was great for driving to outlying spots and for walking into town. My wife said it was the best night's sleep she’s had on our tour of the Inner Hebrides! Not much to complain about; breakfast was delicious, but a staff member being down meant one or two things were overlooked, though that was fixed quickly.

The place was clean, the breakfast solid, and the beds very comfortable. The sea‑view room we got was warm and spacious with a bathtub. Staff were very friendly, welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable about the island and its whisky distilleries. I’ll definitely come back. It was a great choice for location.
