“Wunderschönes Hotel in toller Lager! Zimmer mit Blick auf den Bund empfehlenswert!”
We stayed in a room with a view of the Bund, which was fantastic and absolutely worth the money!

The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund offers luxurious rooms with flat-screen cable TVs, Nespresso machines, and free Wi-Fi, blending old-world charm with modern touches. Marble-finished bathrooms feature double vanities, bathtubs, and Aesop amenities. Enjoy fine dining at New York, Paris Café, Grand Brasserie, or Wai King Kok, and unwind at the heated pool or Waldorf Astoria Spa, located near Nanjing Road, Yu Garden, and People's Square.

The hotel and room are excellent, the location is superb, and it’s very clean and beautiful. The breakfasts are bland.

The service is great, the staff are very nice and thoughtful, offering items or services that might be needed, such as razors, bath salts, and caps. The bed is too soft and I didn’t sleep well. The hotel’s accessibility is inadequate; strollers or wheelchairs must be lifted in the lobby and restaurant, which is very inconvenient. The lobby has many consumption restrictions—if you don’t spend, you’re not allowed to stay.

The hotel is right in the heart of Shanghai, with a nice colonial décor. The staff who handle rooms (I’ve never had another like them anywhere) and the kitchen are excellent. You must try the Benedictine eggs. The breakfast menu is large but not overwhelming. This hotel is for the “better” crowd; you pay not just for comfort but also for being among those who can afford it. I liked it and will definitely try again. Unfortunately, the hotel is over‑rated. It’s great that it’s located so well, but the windows look out onto nearby ruins. Luckily we slept two nights and didn’t have time to admire the views. The room is fairly large, but rooms in Beijing are truly large—read “larger.” As usual, there’s a problem with vegetarian options, but that’s normal in China. Wi‑Fi in China is pointless because the services in our zone don’t work.

I love Shanghai and its vibe. Everything is very, very clean and warm. Thanks, China, for your great work. I didn’t want to leave so quickly, but I had to. I wish I could return with my friends and family to experience what I felt in this beautiful city and hotel again.
