“Unpleasant, odorous and run-down shabby establishment in a poor area.”

There is nothing to like about the place. Parking is extremely difficult; I arrived, got the keys using the code provided, and the first thing that hits you as you open the front door is the overpowering unpleasant, foul odor and the shoes in the hallway. No instructions were given as to the room number, so I had to try others until I found the lock that matched the key. The room itself was shabby and the bed linen had not been changed from the previous occupant; it was uncleaned and the room smelled of stale sweat. I rang the contact number several times but there was no answer. I immediately left and booked another hotel elsewhere at great cost. I eventually received a call from the owner, who told me that he had been working and didn't have time to clean the room. I informed him that I didn't care about that and he seemed rather angry at my response.

The spot was handy for what we needed, but that’s about all the good I can say. The place felt like an HMO or shared flat, not a hotel, which was a shock when we booked. Two men greeted us on arrival, making me feel uneasy and exposed; I was glad my husband was there, otherwise I’d have felt unsafe traveling alone. I couldn’t sleep all night because I didn’t feel secure. The bathroom was filthy—grime and stains on the toilet, floor, shower tray, seals, and edges, plus hairs and dirt on surfaces, dirty windows, and skirting. Fixtures were damaged and maintenance was poor. The bedroom/living area was cluttered with personal items, giving the impression it hadn’t been professionally cleaned for paying guests. We had traveled far and arrived late, so finding another place wasn’t realistic. I took many photos of the bathroom, shower, toilet, bedroom, and communal areas to show the condition. The accommodation was not what I reasonably expected from the booking, and I would never have booked it had I known the circumstances or seen the true state beforehand. I can’t recommend this property, especially to a woman traveling alone, because I felt unsafe and vulnerable throughout the stay.

Exactly what I expected, good value for money and a comfortable bed for the night. The staff were very helpful when I arrived late and again in the morning.
