We enjoyed our stay at Vista Hanoi Hotel, but the payment process could use a tweak. At check‑in we learned cash was required; clearer notice in the booking would have helped, as we weren’t carrying much cash and expected credit card payment. We hope the hotel will resolve the credit card issue and give guests better upfront payment info.

Breakfast was pretty good, with a variety of options laid out neatly and a clean area; vegetarian choices were well catered for. A nice lookout point would be a plus, but it’s fine as is. The location was great—within walking distance to the lake but not in the chaotic center. Reception was tidy, and I appreciated that when the single bed was too hard, they moved us to a room with better mattresses. However, compared to other hotels we stayed at, the front desk staff weren’t as friendly; only one person really connected with us. The others gave small welcome gifts—a bag with a special tea bag or a wafer biscuit—which was a nice touch. During checkout, a fight broke out between two front‑desk ladies over a beer I’d paid for; I’m not sure why one was upset with the other, but it seemed she hadn’t taken a photo of my QR payment. She didn’t explain, and the shouting in front of other guests was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I had to pull out my phone to show proof of payment, which left a sour feeling. Also, the room had no view except a glimpse of a roof, but the low cost of the lovely room more than made up for that.

The place isn't the chaotic old Hanoi vibe; I could stroll around Unified Park and relax, and there are plenty of Japanese restaurants nearby so I never struggled to eat. I finally slept soundly on a bed that suited me. With many bus stops within a 500m radius, city travel was fun and not just the usual Glab route. I think the price could be a bit lower given the location and timing.
