Hotel Cardinal of Florence - recommended for ages 25 to 55

The hotel sits in the most touristic area, so you can walk to any important spot you want. The best part is the terrace with a great view of the Cathedral; you’re allowed to bring your own drinks there. The room was quite clean. The staff were nice. Special thanks to Giuseppe for helping with the taxi and our luggage. It’s on the third floor, so consider that if you can’t use the stairs. I’d be happier if the hotel offered a drink service on the terrace—cocktails and other beverages would make it even livelier. The bathroom looked newly decorated, which was nice, but there was a slight bad odor.

“The Cardina met all our expectations.”

The spot was solid, though too far to walk from the train station. Over three weeks we tried six different hotels in Italy, and Cardinal was by far the oldest, dating back to the early 1600s. We knew there was no lift, but it wasn’t clear that every room sat on the third floor; we were 70 and fit, so it wasn’t a problem, but most of our friends couldn’t manage the stairs. The staff were okay but a bit disengaged. Street noise was loud, but we stayed at the back and missed most of it. The rooftop terrace is great, though its winding, narrow stairs aren’t for everyone. The bed was superb, and we loved the balcony view of the Duomo just two blocks away. Breakfast wasn’t offered, which we expected, but I never realized how nice it is to have a full in‑house breakfast when you’re in an unfamiliar city.

“Estancia en Florencia”

A great place to stay in Florence, the hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious, and the terrace offers an exceptional view of the Duomo—amazing! Coffee, water, and juice are available all day! I highly recommend it. I liked everything; the only downside is that if other rooms are noisy, you can hear it in yours, but nothing serious.
