The pension is off the motorway, which is perfect for a layover, and there’s plenty of parking. The rooms are spacious and still fairly new, each with a kitchenette. Breakfast in the morning was more than enough. When we arrived, the reception was closed even though we had notified them of our arrival time, so communication was slow. After a while someone came, but there was a misunderstanding because they thought we’d booked last minute, which wasn’t the case. The rooms seemed unused for a while; dust and sand were on the floor, the fridge was off so nothing could be kept cold, and it was very hot. We couldn’t leave the skylight open because charcoal was being burned outside, and the smell kept seeping in—there was still a scent in our room even in the morning.

There was no air conditioning, but I got a room on the ground floor, so that wasn’t a problem.

“Séjour parfait”

The location is perfect, right after the German border. The village is pleasant and the pension is quiet. Animals—horses, goats, llamas—are just next to the pension. The lofted layout of the room makes it uncomfortable to lean against the headboard, but that’s a minor detail.

Everything met my expectations. The mattress on the bed was extremely soft.
