I loved being able to use the private onsen in my room at any hour without worrying about neighbors, but the layout forced me to walk past the futon to reach the hand‑wash basin, which was inconvenient after using the toilet.

The hot spring in the room was the best thing, I totally enjoyed it ^_^, but the facility’s aging was unavoidable.

Staying at a traditional Japanese ryokan was a treat—the staff were attentive and warm, and the kaiseki dishes were delicious, though a shuttle from the nearest hot‑spring train station would have made things easier for foreign guests.
