“Quiet location, but noisy, hot stay and unhelpful staff.”
The area is quiet with the monastery nearby; you can hear the bells, which I liked. The room is tiny but well‑designed; there is a minuscule kitchen area with a fridge and a coffee machine, which was useful. Nice bathroom tiles. The sheets are crisp; the bed is rather soft (if you like a soft bed).
(1) As others have mentioned, the room is noisy. I couldn't sleep until 1 am because of loud noise from the room above, which sounded like furniture being moved. The hotel apologised. I was woken at 6:30 am by another neighbour using their bathroom.
(2) Towels were removed from the bathroom without being replaced, despite the hotel's own bathroom notice explicitly stating that towels left in the shower would be replaced. The towel radiator was not working, leaving no practical way to dry the towels if they were to be reused. Returning after a day at the conference, I found no dry towels in the room. When I raised this, the hotel's response contradicted its own sign; it was dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational rather than resolving the issue. The hotel's towel policy should be clearly stated in the description, especially because the bathroom notice gives guests a different expectation. The hotel did not apologise.
(3) The air conditioning did not work; the room was hot. The room has no window, only a door onto a balcony shared with another room and an external staircase. I didn't feel comfortable leaving that door open overnight. The hotel did not apologise.
(4) Teabags were not replenished. The shower has no door; the water floods the bathroom.
(5) If you have an issue in the evening, there is no way to get help. I tried all the means listed in the room manual (phone, social media) to contact the hotel at 23:00, but received no reply until 7:25 the following morning.
