The place was very comfortable, neat and tidy, with a great central location. When our flight from Singkawang was cancelled and we had to head down to Pontianak, the owner very nicely organized a car for us at a great price. If I were back in Singkawang, I would happily stay here again.

For your money you can’t beat this place! It’s smack in the centre of the city, with restaurants, cafés and coffee shops metres away. The owner Tedy and his brother Alloy are superb and friendly hosts. The hotel is kept immaculately clean and is extremely peaceful. Each room opens onto a terrace or garden. My room was spacious, nicely furnished, had excellent air con and wifi, a kettle, a decent bathroom with hot water, and a very comfortable bed. After months of travelling around SE Asia, this hotel stood out as a real gem and excellent value for money. The only issue I had concerned mosquitoes. Each day I had to swat a couple of them in my room—I think there must have been a gap in my window where they entered. Annoying.

The spot was great, close to attractions and restaurants, and the price was reasonable. However, there was no small basin for brushing teeth or washing the face; only a transitional water tank in the toilet.
