The view of the waterfall was the only good thing. It isn’t a lodge; it feels like a house that was at some point renovated to host guests (yet they advertise it as a lodge and charge a decent lodge price). The staff are completely unprepared for guests. They hand over the key, say if you need anything just WhatsApp them, and that’s it. At breakfast the girl was serving the table. She asked if we wanted cake and juice and we said yes. It took a long time to bring it and then she disappeared. After a long wait, when she returned, we asked for more cake: she brought us the last “scraps” of that cake, which together didn’t make a slice (breakfast should be sized for the number of guests, right?). The room almost has no outlets and they’re all on a single Benjamín (danger!). The shower wiring is a makeshift that runs from the vinyl ceiling down the wall (exposed wires, another danger!). The bathroom has no window. There’s no trash bin in the room (only the bathroom bin). There’s no option – even to buy – bottled water in the room. Because it’s far from the village, it would be appropriate to have water available, even at an extra cost. The only good thing is the view of the waterfall on the deck at breakfast. You pay the same daily rate as good hotels in Europe or elsewhere, without the basic service expected of a lodge. Definitely not worth the investment.
