The castle looks great from the outside, but inside it’s rather modern. The food from the warming drawer was cold.

The hotel’s location is great, the food at the castle restaurant is tasty, the staff are friendly, and there’s a 24‑hour lounge where you can make your own coffee and tea.

The single lady on duty struggled to keep up; during breakfast she was also busy handling guests’ requests for toilet paper (rooms were missing it) and processing departing guests’ payments. The Wi‑Fi, which the listing promised, was nowhere to be found—neither in the room, on the corridor, nor at reception. There was no toiletries set, and even the standard soap dispenser by the sink was empty. The lady from breakfast and the toilet‑paper issue (she was very nice, by the way) couldn’t resolve it; she said she would pass it on to the cleaning staff, but nobody showed up. Daily housekeeping was supposed to be part of the offer. Additionally, the drinking water in the room came in a bottle (or jug?) without labels and was sealed with an unsealed cork. There was no kettle in the room, and tea or coffee were only available in the breakfast lounge. At check‑in, we had to wait about half an hour. No one at reception answered phones or responded to knockers.

We liked the castle as a sightseeing spot and the location, but the price felt too high for the standard. Breakfast food wasn’t replenished, the room wasn’t cleaned properly, dust clumps were everywhere—especially under the bed—and there were stones in a drawer and scuffed walls in the bathroom. There was also no kettle in the room.
