“Preisleistungs Verhältnisse stimmen nicht”

I had a pleasant stay in Santanyí / Cala Figuera and want to highlight the positives first. I especially liked the generous room size and the great location of the hotel; from there you can reach many beautiful beaches and charming little towns quickly, which is perfect if you want to explore the island by car. The food was overall decent and rounded off my stay nicely. I was disappointed, however, by the cleanliness and condition of the room. The bathroom grout was partially moldy, the hand and bath towels were visibly worn and even damaged in places. The canopy on the terrace, for which I paid an extra fee as a special highlight, was noticeably dirty. Additionally, my terrace faced a heavily trafficked street, which made its use considerably difficult. The reception service also disappointed me. The employee spoke only Spanish and could not communicate in English, German, or Italian. She was also unfriendly and unhelpful. The air conditioning was another issue – it was set to 15 °C and nobody could explain how to change the temperature. When I asked, I was simply told it was “just that” and I had to endure the cold for all five nights. For the very high price per night I expected much more cleanliness, comfort, and service. It’s a shame, because with the room size and the beautiful location the hotel had great potential.
