I never expected such a bad experience at a place with glowing reviews. There was no reception area, so we had no idea how to contact the owner to get in. The building lacks an elevator, forcing us to haul all our bags up two flights. When we finally reached the room, the priority seemed to be sprinkles of rose petals on the bed, while mold on the ceiling and a lingering cigarette smell in the bathroom made the stay unbearable. The host was pushy, rude, and controlling from the moment we met her, and she even came banging on our door at 9 am to wake us up for breakfast, which we skipped because she was hovering and intrusive. She refilled the same plastic water bottle with tap water every day instead of giving us a new one, told us to “respect the atmosphere” and only lower the air conditioning by two degrees because Italians don’t like cold, and would only replace one towel instead of both, which felt like a cost‑saving tactic. She finally asked my husband how things were and, knowing we were unhappy, said “don’t put me down” when you do a review, just say nothing. The only bright spot was the great central location, but there are plenty of other options nearby. Future guests should know what to expect.

The place is in a perfect spot, very central yet on a quiet street where traffic is barely audible thanks to the sound‑proof windows. The lady sent us the exact details for a self‑check‑in beforehand, so everything went smoothly. We’d book and recommend it again, but without breakfast. The address listed on Google Maps is on a different side street, and without the lady’s info we wouldn’t have found it. Breakfast didn’t meet our expectations: on the first day she forgot we’d booked it, and we had to specify exactly when we wanted it. She was two times late at the agreed time, but the coffee was very good.
