Nestled on Niseko Moiwa’s slopes, Niseko Backcountry Lodge offers ski‑to‑door rooms with free Wi‑Fi, private parking, and a complimentary shuttle to Annupuri International Ski Area. Guests dine at an izakaya‑style restaurant, enjoy a bar, and access ticketing services. Nearby, a public hot spring bath lies 800 m away, while Goshiki Onsen is 2.9 km distant.

Everything was great. The kitchen was a bit sparse, but not that bad.

The inn was very nice, the common areas were pleasant and comfortable, and the vibe was good. It was quite calm in the evenings, with no disturbing noise to sleep. The breakfast was hearty and tasty. I had a good stay. The location is convenient for skiing at Moiwa, but less so for skiing at the Niseko United area; there is only one round‑trip shuttle per day offered by the inn (up to Annupuri). Otherwise, you have to walk 30 minutes to Annupuri to catch a public bus, which is really not ideal with skis; I think an extra evening shuttle to Annupuri or Hirafu would be useful. On the downside, the housekeeping didn’t clean around my bed; I found dirty tissues on the mattress and a lot of dust. For dinner, the inn’s restaurant is rather pricey, and the portions are small (even with 3000 yen I wasn’t satisfied), and there aren’t many other options nearby, nor are there convenient konbini on foot—only a small convenience store at another hotel that can help.

The location is quite isolated, far from the 'Big 4' ski resorts and Niseko’s main commercial areas. To make matters worse, the reception staff was cold and the overall service was unprofessional. I signed up for their Rusutsu ski trip three days in advance and even double-checked with reception two or three times, receiving confirmation as late as the night before. However, I was told at the very last minute on the morning of the trip that it was cancelled. The reason given was that they hadn't met the minimum number of participants—a rule that was never communicated to me beforehand. Had I known this was a possibility, I would have booked elsewhere or made a Plan B. Due to the hotel's remote location, I also had to pay 7,000 yen for a transfer to the Welcome Center on my final day. I would not recommend staying here if you value reliability and service."
