“Bom mas poderia ser melhor.”

The setting was pretty and the value was decent, but the room lacked a TV which felt a bit missing, the shower had obstructive holes and we had to bathe with a small bucket… I also thought the breakfast price of 30 reais per person a day was a little steep for what was offered. However, the city doesn’t have markets selling reasonably priced goods, so if you love breakfast it might be worth it. There was no 24‑hour reception; when I arrived at 07:00 I had to keep texting and calling WhatsApp to see if someone could open the gate. The location is not near the center, walking is impossible and Uber charges 40 reais each way.

The facilities were good, but it’s far from everything (really far). Taking a taxi is hard and expensive, and that should be explained at booking for those without cars. I had a flight issue and tried to cancel the last of the four nights I’d bought, but the owner was totally inflexible and uncomprehending.

“Me senti em casa”

Our stay at Casa Arminio was simply perfect! The location is excellent for visiting the Lençóis Maranhenses: it’s practically next to the park, and when the car came to pick us up for the tours, we were inside the Lençóis in about 10 minutes. It’s a bit far from the city center, but that wasn’t a problem. The owner gave us taxi contacts and was extremely helpful. On some days she even gave us a lift to the center, and after dinner she made sure to pick us up and bring us back. Breakfast is complete and delicious. The room was always clean and fragrant, with air‑conditioning working perfectly and a great shower. Everything was very comfortable and well maintained. The big difference, without doubt, was the owner’s hospitality. She helped us organize the tours, round‑trip transfers to the capital, and was available all the time on her phone, always asking if we were fine, if we needed anything, and even how each trip had gone when we returned. It was an experience of care and welcome that we’ve never had at any other lodging. We absolutely loved everything and recommend with closed eyes! If we ever return to São Luís do Maranhão, we’ll definitely stay at Casa Armonia again ♥️

“Non lo consiglio”

The room looked fresh and was spotless, but the price felt high for what you get. They didn't provide any toiletries besides a single soap bar and the hairdryer was only available if you asked. We also had to pay extra for breakfast, which was underwhelming.

The place was barely cleaned, no toilet paper, and the bathroom trash bin was full. We didn't know breakfast cost extra and there was nobody around at night. Plus it's a long drive from the town center and restaurants.
