“We were visiting family but this place was a sanctuary”
The location was lovely, and despite being in the town centre it was quiet; the courtyard was a real bonus. We met the owner, who was a perfect host, and I’d recommend this place to others.
“Perfect accommodation”
Everything about these rooms is perfect. We stayed in both rooms available for a family party up the road, and they are faultless—bright, airy, spacious and immaculately clean. Halfway between the high street and the waterfront, it’s perfect in every aspect.
“Comfortable room”
There was no breakfast, but the staff were good. It’s a shame you couldn’t have breakfast, and I think you should put shower gel in the shower instead of a bar of soap.

There was no breakfast, but the stay was enjoyable. The room was very clean, with tea, coffee and milk provided; the only downside was the skylight above the bed letting in light very early in the morning. Everything else in Brightlingsea was very convenient.
The staff were amazing and helpful, making me feel very welcome; the room was amazing and very cozy. The only issue was that the next‑door guest wasn’t respectful, with loud talking and swearing.
